Upgrading Your DEI Alarm to a Valet Remote Starter

Most of the recent DEI Brands and Models of Alarm Systems can be upgraded to a DEI Valet Remote Starter with Security without having to necessarily remove your existing DEI Alarm wiring that is already installed in your vehicle.Your choices are to add-on a DEI Valet 561T Module to your present DEI Alarm, or to replace your present DEI Alarm CPU with the DEI Valet 563T CPU or with the DEI 554R CPU, either of which include a security system along with the remote starter.You can then use your old DEI Alarm System in another vehicle.

You can do this CPU upgrade because the primary harness (H1, 12-pin connector) of the DEI Valet 563T and the DEI Valet 554R Remote Starters with Security Systems are "almost compatible" with your existing DEI Alarm System's primary harness (H1, 12-pin connector, white plug).

Check your present DEI Brand Alarm System's Primary H1 Harness and Plug at your Alarm System's CPU and verify that it looks like the DEI Alarm Harness pictured above. See Finding The Alarm CPU.

If so, you can "convert" the DEI Alarm Primary H1 Harness in the left photo to the DEI Valet Remote Starter Primary H1 Harness in the right photo.

We will include detailed instructions on "how to convert" your existing DEI Alarm's Primary H1 Harness to accommodate your new DEI Valet 563T or DEI Valet 554R "Two-Way" Remote Starter with Security. You can then save the new hH1 Harness to use with your old DEI Alarm system when you install it in another vehicle.

The existing DEI shock sensor, door lock outputs, LED and valet switch merely unplug from your existing DEI Alarm CPU and plug directly into your new DEI Valet Remote Starter with Security CPU.

You can then use the new components when you "re-install" your old existing DEI Alarm System in another vehicle.

We provide a Wiring Information Sheet for your specific vehicle to assist you in finding the appropriate factory wires needed the install a DEI Remote Starter System.Be sure to include your vehicle information (year – make – model) with your order.

Most new and recent model vehicles have factory anti-theft systems to prevent a vehicle being started without the specific owner's key in the ignition. DEI Remote starters can be installed in all of these vehicles using the appropriate DEI Bypass Module to enable the vehicle to start and run during the remote starting operation without a key in the ignition. DEI Bypass Modules do not compromise your vehicle's anti-theft protection.
